The Christmas season is upon us, and after the year we've had, we're looking forward to spreading a little extra joy -

and we hope you'll join us!

Formerly known as Secret Santa,

we've made some slight adjustments and are excited to present

The Christmas Giving Tree

How It Works:

Donors

You'll find a number of Giving Trees at local business around town. From there, you'll take an anonymous tag, which will include a gender and an age. You'll then go purchase a gift for the individual on your chosen tag, and bring the unwrapped gift to the FCSS office. We'll include wrapping supplies, and have it ready to go for families to pick up before Christmas!

** please have gifts purchased and dropped off by December 10 **

If you're wanting to make a monetary donation - which will help cover the costs of grocery store vouchers for a hearty Christmas meal - you can do so through our event partner, Wetaskiwin Salvation Army.

Families

Below, you'll find a link to our online application. Simply fill this out, and we'll handle the rest. We'll arrange gifts for your children, as well as a vouchers to a local grocery store for a Christmas dinner for you and your family. Gifts will be ready to be picked up on December 16 and 17 at the Wetaskiwin Salvation Army.

Christmas Joy for Seniors

A Branch of The Giving Tree

This program will work quite similarly to The Giving Tree. Individuals can apply for themselves, noting their interests so that donors can purchase a personal gift just for them. Or, you can "nominate" or apply on behalf of a senior that could use an extra dose of Christmas cheer this year. Maybe you know of a single woman on your street that doesn't get out much; maybe you know of an older gentleman that doesn't have any family nearby; or maybe you know an elderly couple that just had a really emotionally tough year - whoever it is, apply on their behalf and we'll make sure they feel the love.

In addition, we're partnering with the Wetaskiwin District Heritage Museum Centre & Star Store and Peace Hills Hospice Society to ensure that every senior receives a small gift bag - and we're looking for your help to cover the cost of these. Each gift bag will be valued at approx. $20 and will include a handful of cozy goodies.

All financial contributions for Christmas Joy for Seniors can be made through the Wetaskiwin District Heritage Museum Centre.

** The Christmas Joy for Seniors application is the same as The Christmas Giving Tree application - just fill in N/A for any irrelevant questions.
